Seeing a new fast food chicken option is always intriguing, so we jumped at the chance to try Pollo Campero (roughly translated it means Camper Chicken, or chicken for the field workers). This place started in Guatemala back in 1971 and has been slowly spreading throughout the US. I stood in a long line and was excited to try their spicy chicken sandwich, but was told sandwiches were not available. So we go a 2 piece meal and nuggets with fries. The chicken was tasty, and there was more flavor than you’d find in something from the usual suspects but the fries were soggy and flavorless and the rice was undercooked and nothing special. At $10.99 for 6 nuggets, soggy fries and a roll we just can’t reccomend this place over KFC, Popeyes or Chick Fil A. USA wins again.
